The Swiss Jardin
Location "F" is the best restaurant in Puerto Plata, it's called The Swiss Jardin.
Owned run for over 15 years by James, a Swiss chef and his Dominican wife Maria.
Resverations at 1-809-586-9564, open for lunch from 11am to 3pm and again from 5pm till 10pm for dinners. Closed all day sundays.

Papillon Steak House
Have a fantastic sunday brunch and open daily for lunch and dinners from 11am till 11pm.
Their steaks are superb and the German menue is up to noth American standards.

Chris & Mady's is owned and operated by a Canadian-Dominican couple with 12 years of experience in Hospitality Industry in Playa Cofresi.

Nelly's Restaurant
Nelly is a Swiss lady with many years experience in the restaurant business.
She came to Puerto Plata 5 years ago and opened this small restaurant over looking Playa Long Beach at the eastern end of the Malecon.
Good food at reasonable prices is what to expect here.
Just to stop in for a drink and take in the view is a wonderful want to start the day.

Sensacion Hotel & Cabanas
Out on the road to Corfresi is at location(#1) Hotel Sensacion (called cabanas) they are rented by the more affluent Dominicans who take their girlfriends there for the afternoon.
Complete with hot tubs and room service at reasonable prices.

Lormar Hotel
At location "E" is the Hotel Lormar, it is very nice with bar fridge and cable TV, for about 400 pesos per night.
500 pesos for the larger room, a bargain when you have two double beds.

Sunshine Hotel
At location "G" is the Sunshine Hotel, nice but not one of my favorites because it's on the main raod and a little noisey, as is "H" the Hotel Condo. Both are in the 400 pesos per night range and companion friendly.

Portofinos Guesthouse
Going away from the ocean on this street is a hotel at location "B" by the name of "Portifinos" it has clean rooms, bar fridge and cable TV, and a small pool for 400 pesos per night. Since you don't have to pass through a lobby it is more discreet when bringing a girlfriend home.

Mountain View Hotel
At location "K" is the Mountain View, it has rooms in the 400 peso per night range and a large bar/disco on site with about 30 waitresses working there. Great place to visit and is packed nightly untill about 3am so don't check in there if you want to go to bed early.
