Safety in the Dominican Repiblic.

The all-inclusive hotels tell the tourists that it is not safe to go outside the hotel complex in the night time and only with tours in the day time.

This is not so!!!

As for safety, it has been my experience, it is entirely safe. Although there have been occasions where a single person has had a pass made at them by a Dominican women or man, love that latin culture, or a motorconcho has taken a customer for a few extra pesos.
These incidents are very few in number, and violent crime is much less than back in downtown Toronto.

Playa Dorada Golf Course.

This par 72, 18 hole golf course is located on the north coast in the Playa Dorada complex near Puerto Plata. The Playa Dorada Golf Course was founded in 1984 and designed by the golf architect Robert Trent Jones Sr.. It has wide fairways, 4 greens by the sea, 5 greens are set bordering inland water. Around the course area there are many all-inclusive hotels.

Playa Grande Championship Golf Course, 18 holes par 72.

This course, one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean, was designed by the celebrated architect Robert Trent Jones Sr., on an area of more 370 acres, it was inaugurated in 1997. It's not just oceanfront, with holes along the beach. The course is high above the ocean, played along 100-foot bluffs, 10 of the 18 holes are played along the seacliffs, and bays with cliffs like Pebble Beach. The course has it’s spectacular oceanfront setting, with hills in the background. Also as spectacular is the exciting Playa Grande Beach, the most impressive of the island laying at the foot of this golf course.

The Bahia Blanca Hotel
In Rio San Juan.

This 16 room hotel is located on the beach in Rio San Juan, just 10 minutes from the Playa Grande golf course. This course has been compared to the famous Pebble Beach course for beauty and player enjoyment.

The deluxe rooms all have queen size beds with ceiling fans. Over looking the ocean is a small restaurant, an American style breakfast is available each morning until noon.
